Heart of Compassion Trust - Working in Northern Uganda among the many people affected by conflict

Sponsored events have been a very effective method of raising funds for Heart of Compassion Trust in the past. If you have an idea of an event you would like to do, then you can register it on our Sponsorship site, and encourage others to sponsor you. If you are familiar with how sites such as JustGiving.com work, then you should have no trouble setting up a site for your event.

KONA SITS

The following activities have been undertaken by people interested in raising money for Heart of Compassion Trust. Should you wish to take part in a fund-raising event, please contact us requesting a sponsor form, or use the Sponsorship site discussed above.

The Half Marathon

Bike Rides: In 2007, money was raised through participation in "KONA Sleepless in the Saddle (SITS)", a 24 hour cycle race, in Catton Park involving 1400 participants. Other cycling-related fund-raising events have included getting sponsorship to cycle the Coast to Coast route.

Running: Over a number years, people have run the Sheffield Half Marathon in support of Heart of Compassion Trust. In 2006, a total of 11 people ran the half marathon on behalf of Heart of Compassion Trust, with people having run both in 2005, and again in 2006.

Other fundraising events have included parachute jumps, the sale of food and donations at other events not specifically organised by Heart of Compassion Trust.

Heart of Compassion Trust is not registered with JustGiving.com or similar websites. This decision was taken based on the cost to the charity of registration, and a belief that we could achieve what was needed through other means.
